face

I was flipping through Contemporary Graphic Design in Kim Hiorthyoy section and came across this art work on page 253.  It really stood out to me with the way the compostion is, the face faded and the repeating of the face.  The colors really make it stand out.  The only think  really dont get is why is there a chain link in the picture.

I found this in the Contempary Graphic Design in the Rafael Esquer section on page 154.  I am finding alot of great finds in this book and by different people that all have different ideas and alot of them are sticking out to me.  But this is suppose to be a spread in Elle magazine and i just thought it was really cool looking.  With the legs have a moon and couple of stars on them and then flowers for the background with suns and moons mixed in.  I like how the feet look like they are walking and making a path.  The composition was really thought out in this one.

eye

I was again flipping through Contempary Graphic Design and found this very interesting piece of art work.  I found it in the Daniel Eatock section on page149.  It say that this is for the Big Brother 7 logo/television program.  I found this to be really interesting because of the colors being so stunning.  The contrast with the yellow and black go really well together.  Also the spirl effect that is going on is really interesting to.  With the negative spaces where they are makes it an eye.  I thought this was well exicuted.

I found this while looking through the Contempary Graphic Design book and found this under Dextro on page 129.  This is just a design that was done for the artist himself.  It really stood out to me because of the colors that were used and the way the lines veried from think to thin.  I think this is just a very interesting piece.  There is alot going on but not enough that you dont know what you are looking at.  It is just enough to keep you interested and trying to figure out what it is suppose to be.

red white and blue

I was looking through the Contempary Graphic Design book and found what is suppose to be a tshirt design that was found under Adapter on page 29.  I really like how all the images goes together and are united by the color that is being used.  There is no heavy black lines so it flows very nicely.  I think this is really cool because of all the images that they used being mixed together.  There are robot legs, some lips, hair, and even a skull.  There is a since of science fiction to this art work. 

tiny

I found this is in Advertisement book.  It really caught my attention with the tiny soda and popcorn. I really cant tell what this ad is for due to the fact that it isn't in English.  But i think that the colors that they used complement each other well.  But with the white soda and popcorn it really gets your attention against the dark background.

hands

Right off the bat I could tell this was suppose to be a vehicle.  It really caught my attention because they took simply their hand to form a car.  It is an ad for BMW.  There isnt much color to the ad just a dark blue and the skin tones of the people.  It is very interesting what you can do with a group of people and thier hands. 

uhhh

I thought this was really nice looking.  I found this in a sports magazine and it is an ad for a hotel.  I like how they used a real lion in the picture to go along with the logo of the hotel.  It looks like it was a picture that was actually taken.  I enjoy the colors of the skyline that shows.

funny

I really like this ad.  It is suppose to be an ad for lost and found for animal.  I like the idea of a dog hiding around common everyday things.  With it blending in with the suroundings it is really a good idea.  The way that they made the dog blend in is really well done to.   I think this ad is done really well. 

Fourth picture

I really thought this was a neat idea that the racing community did for all their drivers.  They made a card of the drivers and their cars.  This is my aunt's card that they made.  I just liked how they used the sepia background.  The car really sticks out from the rest of the picture because of it being white.   It has the contrast of the red swirls that go under the car and into the other side that they show.  Its not is a book or anything like that i just thought that it showed good quality work in graphic design.

Third picture

This picture was in the Graphic Design Annual 2007.  What caught my attention was the cover of the book was the top view of a tree that got cut.  The placement of the title in the lower right hand corner i thought was a good idea with the logo in the middle.  I wouldn't of thought of this was for mountain biking, i would of thought this would be more about trees then anything.  But i guess stump jumping is something mountain bikers do????  I'm not really sure.  But with the natural color of the tree with the white lettering and silver plate i think it goes very well together.  The cover is not to crowded and is well balanced in my opinion.

I thought this was a cool concept.  Using the post as hats, with a women's silhouette on it.  It is a simple idea with a good impact.  What i notice first was the top of the posts as hats.  It just blended in to the picture really well.  With black on the top and bottom makes it cohesive.

This is the first time even doing this but i was looking through one of the photograph annual and found this advertisement in it.  I thought this was cool looking cause it was for Camel cigeratte ad.  It caught my attention due to the fact that it was a play on fire and the camel logo.
